Pre‑Pest‑Control Advice for Our Clients

Preparing your home before a pest control treatment helps ensure the best possible results. These simple steps make the treatment more effective, longer‑lasting, and safer for your family and pets.

🧹 1. General Home Preparation

  • Tidy floors and clear clutter so technicians can access skirting boards and key treatment areas.

  • Wipe down benches and store food away in sealed containers.

  • Empty rubbish bins and ensure lids are closed.

  • Vacuum or sweep floors to remove crumbs that attract pests.

🚪 2. Access for the Technician

  • Unlock gates and ensure clear access around the home’s exterior.

  • Move furniture slightly away from walls where possible.

  • Make sure roof access, subfloor areas, and sheds are accessible if included in your service.

🐾 3. Pets & Livestock

  • Keep pets secured away from treatment areas.

  • Remove pet bowls, toys, bedding, and food before the technician arrives.

  • Fish tanks should be covered and pumps turned off during indoor treatments.

  • For rural properties, ensure animals are moved away from external spray zones.

🧴 4. Inside the Home

  • Store toothbrushes, towels, and personal items in cupboards.

  • Cover or put away baby toys, play mats, and feeding items.

  • Avoid mopping floors for 24 hours after treatment unless advised otherwise.

🌧 5. Outside the Home

  • Remove items leaning against the house (wood piles, boxes, garden tools).

  • Trim vegetation touching the home to reduce pest harbourage.

  • Keep windows closed during external treatments.

  • If rain is forecast or it is raining at time of service, don’t worry— We can complete internals and shedule in a time to complete external areas.

🚫 6. After Treatment

  • Avoid touching treated surfaces until dry (usually 1–2 hours).

  • You may notice increased pest activity over the next 14 days — this is normal as pests come into contact with the treatment.

  • Keep your home clean and dry to maintain long‑term results.

Post‑Treatment Care Guide

Thank you for choosing our pest control service. To ensure you get the best and longest‑lasting results, please follow the care instructions below.

🕒 1. Allow Time for the Treatment to Work

  • Avoid touching treated surfaces until they are completely dry (usually 1–2 hours).

  • You may see increased pest activity for several days—this is normal as pests come into contact with the treatment.

  • Full results typically develop over 7–14 days, depending on the pest type and level of infestation.

🧽 2. Cleaning After Treatment

  • Do not mop or wash treated skirting boards, Hinges or edges for at least 5–7 days.

  • General cleaning (vacuuming, wiping benches, etc.) is fine as long as you avoid treated areas.

  • Outdoor treatments should not be hosed off or pressure‑cleaned for at least 1 week.

🐾 3. Pets & Children

  • Keep pets and children away from treated surfaces until dry.

  • Return pet bowls, toys, and bedding only after surfaces have dried.

  • If you have aquariums, ensure pumps are turned back on once the treatment is complete.

🚪 4. Inside the Home

  • Avoid disturbing gel baits or dusting powders placed in cupboards, cracks, or crevices.

  • Do not remove or wipe away any visible bait placements.

  • If you see dead insects, vacuum them up—this helps prevent secondary infestations.

🌿 5. Outside the Home

  • Keep gardens, mulch, and vegetation trimmed back from the house to reduce pest harbourage.

  • Avoid stacking firewood, boxes, or materials against exterior walls.

  • Ensure gutters and drains remain clear to reduce moisture‑loving pests.

🐜 6. What to Expect

  • Ants: Activity may increase before it decreases—this is a sign the treatment is working.

  • Cockroaches: You may see dying or slow‑moving roaches for several days.

  • Spiders: Webs may remain; remove them after 1 week to monitor new activity.

  • Rodents: Baiting may take several days; avoid disturbing bait stations.
